Once you have completed the story and questions, create a blog post that answers the following questions:
1. What do you think about General Zaroff's game?
2. Would you have been able to survive? Why or why not?
3. Do you think there are people that would play such a game?
Since we did not get to finish our google form from Thursday, we will start fresh today.
1. Complete the Spec Scavenger Hunt but visiting thespec.com and completing the google questionnaire (found below).
2. When you are finished post an answer to one of the following statements below in a 5-10 sentence reply in your blog. This is your own opinion so just write your thoughts/opnions on ONE of the following topics:
Parents are the best teachers.
Texting has destroyed communication among friends and family.
It is better for children to grow up in the country rather than in a big city.
Celebrities have a negative effect on society.
A teenager is old enough to take care of him/herself.
Murder is OK sometimes.
A person should protect him/herself at any cost.
It is ok to use people for entertainment purposes.
September 29: Exploring our local paper online: the spec scavenger hunt

2. You should now have 4 blog posts in total: 1 news story headline, 1 wordle (all about me), 1 standardized test prep, and 1 on the Audrey Gleave case.
3. If all of your blog work is done, visit chompchomp.com and complete the following two grammar exercises (there, their and they're + two, to, too)
4. Write down the score you got for each one in your grammar exercise mark sheet.
5. Once you are done, comment on two student blogs. To comment mention something specific you liked in one of their blog posts and say why. Also ask a question about something you were unsure of or found interesting.

2. Complete the 5Ws and H chart found here:
3. Copy and paste the text into your blog along with a link to the story you analyzed.
4. Write a few brief sentences of your thoughts on the case or the information you just read. Did it change your thoughts on the case? What questions are left unanswered for you?
Making a Worlde: All About Me
1. Visit the following website: www.wordle.net
2. Click on the tab marked CREATE. Your wordle topic is 'all about me'.
3. Type in as many words you can think of to describe yourself - this can include your characteristics, hobbies, nicknames and physical features.
4. Be sure to type your name in several times as it will become the biggest word on the page when you repeat it.
5. Once you have checked your word list and spelling, click GO.
6. You can then edit the way your wordle looks. Click on the tabs to see different colours, fonts and word directions.
7. Once you are happy with how it looks click on the button that says save to public gallery.
8. Give your wordle a title with your name.
9. Copy the link at the top of your wordle's web page. Leave this window open.
10. Paste the link into a new post on your blog titled "All About Me".
11. Save your blog.
12. Now everyone will be able to get to your wordle from your blog.

You can edit the look and feel of the blog - change backgrounds, add gadgets, etc.
2. Create your first blog post:
TOPIC 1:
Find an online news headline from the past week that interests you. Read the article and give a brief summary in your first post as to what the article is about. Then, copy and paste the link to the article into your post. Also include a picture in your blog post to go along with that news story (be sure to give credit to the picture's source). Your headline for your blog post should reflect what is interesting about that article.
TOPIC 2:
Do you think standardized tests like the literacy test are necessary? List your reasons as to why or why not in a post. Find an online article that agrees with your viewpoint. Post the link to that article in your blog post.
